Chapter two is about how police came about and how they fit into society. In the United States police came about in Boston 1838. They created the first American Police Force. I also remember in one of my other classes we also learned about Robert peel. He is considered the father of modern day policing. Police are needed in todays world, they keep peace and restore order. This is a service that may never be taken away. When police first came about they weren't true Law Enforcement I agree with that but NOW police officers are finally trained by professionals and are taught the correct way to handle certain situations. Police now are more equip to handle certain situations, police now are taught to try and use their words before using force.
